Crane Operator/Labourer

About the Role

We are looking for a fulltime Labourer to work on our day shift, working alongside our small team of Gantry Operators to safely and competently unload and store glass for our Glass Processing teams.

You will start as a labourer, assisting the gantry operator while you learn how to operate the gantry. Your pay level will increase as you achieve each level of competency. You will receive thorough, internal training in the operation of the overhead gantry cranes, glass handling, glass lifting equipment and general safety and ongoing training to develop within our environment.

Our day shift hours are Monday to Thursday 6am-2.30pm and Friday 6am - 12pm.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Operation of a gantry crane, up to SWL 3.5T
  • Unloading of shipping containers
  • Unpacking of crates
  • Loading trucks as required by despatch
  • Movement of materials within factory as required
  • Operations of various lifting attachments as required
  • Monitoring and preparation of stock material and stock replenishment for the factory cutting line

You will be working in an environment where safety comes first. Glass is fragile and we ensure all our employees are well trained in all aspects of glass handling. You therefore must;

  • Have the ability to lift 15-20kg and move glass safely
